Friday STEM Day!!
We had a great time creating towers in teams Friday afternoon.
The rules of the activity where:
1. You can only use the materials given to you.
2. You must work together with your team.
3. the cups can't touch each other.
I will say Rule 2 was a challenge as i thought it might be.
We used a planning  sheet to sketch out what we thought our towers might look like. We also used our sheet to record our measurements.

I was super impressed with how this team showed amazing resilience. They ran into some problems with their design and had to adjust and fix their tower a couple of times.

We took measurements of everyones height, length, and width. Each team had the most in one of the areas.

At the end of this activity we self reflected on if we thought our team worked together well and if we thought we successfully completed the task. I loved some of the students honesty about how it was hard to work as a team, because several people in each team had ideas about how they thought the project should go. Overall each team thought they completed the task successfully. I love getting to see how these activities really get the kids thinking.
