Heavy and Light
We have been learning lots about different kinds of measurement in Room 2. Yesterday we had some fun with a scale. We put a water bottle on one end and then made predictions about how many animal counters would be heavier than the water bottle. We had lots of good guesses and 3 friends came the closest with their prediction. It took 162 animal counters to tip the scale. We then completed a heavy and light sorting activity.

Some of our predictions.

Measurement Mission!!
We started learning about measurement in Maths today. We used non standard units (cubes) to measure different items around the classroom. We worked in pairs to get all of the items on our lists measured.
 We measured rulers.
 Hugh measured a book.

I think our favourite thing on the list was measuring each other.
We had to measure a school bag.
 Great team work girls!

Brodie is measuring a paint brush.

 Sam is measuring the table.

Wow our class rug is long!

Maths Week!!!
Last week was Maths week and we had an amazing time participating in the Maths celebration the year 7&8's put on for us.

We are ready to do some Maths!

 Counting our star jumps.

We are splitting groups to make even sets.

Counting steps to see who threw the ring the farthest.
 Hugo had a huge throw!
How many bounces can we do in a minute.
Lets add up the pins we knock down.

Lego Car Challenge
Our STEM activity today was to build a lego car only using two sets of wheels and in a certain amount of time. We then tested our cars off a ramp to see whose car would travel the farthest.
