Room 2 showed amazing support for wig Wednesday. It feels great to give back to such an important cause.

Songs of the Sea

Waiata O Te Moana

Room 2 had an amazing time on our trip yesterday. We loved the Songs of the Sea show. Thank you to all our mums that came and helped out.

One of our favourite parts was how they showed the movement of the waves.

Waste Time Line

Room 2 did an awesome activity with Mrs. Douglas on Monday. We created a waste time line. Room 2 made predictions about how long different kinds of waste takes to break down. We then found out how long each item actually took. This was a great way for Room 2 to see why its so important to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle as much as possible.

Fortune Tellers With a Twist

We made an oldie but goodie today with a maths twist. When I told Room 2 I use to make these when I was their age they were a bit surprised. We each got to pick and addition or subtraction themed fortune teller to make. So Mrs. Church and others heard a lot of "Choose a number" today. Just another fun way to practice our basic facts.

Shaving Cream Fun!

We practiced some essential words today with shaving cream. Room 2 loves a good mess!

So Proud of Thomas!!

I received an email from Thomas's mum with a video that Thomas made. After we created our bridges in class on Friday for our STEM activity Thomas went home and made some more. I love that Thomas was so excited about our activity that he went home and did this. Way to go Thomas your a super star!

Friday STEM Day!

We started our STEM activity with a story today. 

This is the story of how the Brooklyn Bridge was built and tested to see if it was safe. 21 elephants were marched across the bridge to show the people the bridge could be trusted. We decided to have a go at building our own bridges with only straws and tape. We then tested them to see if they could hold weight.

 The timer was ticking. Some of our friends in Room 2 struggled with our time limit.

 Braiden's bridge was able to hold weight.

       M&M Fun in Maths Today!!!

We had some great fun using M&M's in maths yesterday. We sorted, graphed, and practiced our addition strategies using M&M's. Room 2 worked really hard and received the much deserved treat of getting to have a couple M&M's at the end.

Hugo is awesome at figuring out addition problems.

 David was really focusing on his graph.
