Science Celebration
We had a celebration of what we have been doing in Science this afternoon. We loved having parents stop by to see our awesome work. We had a few lucky parents that got to watch us make elephant toothpaste.

Showing off some of the Science activities we have done this term. Including our lava lamp.
Safety first in our Science activities.

We had a discussion today about we think a scientist is. Room 2 came up with some great ideas.

We started our Science activity talking about what a prediction is. And what kind of prediction could we make about what elephant toothpaste might be.

Here we are recording our predictions. room 2 came up with some great ideas.

We have our materials all ready.

We added hydrogen peroxide, food colouring, and a little dish soap to the bottle.

We then mixed dry yeast and warm water together. Room 2 was not a fan of the smell of dry yeast.

We added the dry yeast to our bottle.

The reaction happened pretty fast.

Here we have it elephant toothpaste! Now we just need a elephant sized toothbrush.

Here we are feeling the heat that has been put off by the release of energy. The big word for this would be an (exothermic reaction).
We had a great time sharing our learning. Thanks to those parents that were able to stop by.
