Thursday STEM Day!
With no school on Friday we moved our STEM activity to today. We started talking about the walking rainbow last week, so everyone was super excited to see how it worked.
We started with looking at how we needed to set up the experiment.
Here are our jars of water.
David added the red food colouring.
Sophie put in the yellow.
Hugh did the blue for us.
We recorded our first round of observations. Basically adding the colours to our diagram and noting how many colours we used and how many jars.
We have some awesome data collectors in room 2.
We recorded our second round of observations as our colours started to move or walk.
Unfortunately we ran out of time to see the final product, but we did see hints of colours mixing and our rainbow starting to appear.
We looked at the above slide and talked about primary colours and how they mix. We talked about why our activity was called the walking rainbow.
I promised room 2 I would post a final picture of the walking rainbow tonight or tomorrow so keep a look out.
